Smart Cookie Barkery is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead day-to-day operations in our pet food manufacturing facility. This role oversees production planning, staff supervision, inventory management, and food safety compliance. The ideal candidate will bring experience in pet food production or food & beverage manufacturing, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with the leadership team on continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Production Operations:

  • Lead daily treat manufacturing and packaging operations following production plans.
  • Optimize staff utilization and equipment performance to maximize throughput.
  • Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility aligned with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Collect, evaluate, analyze, and assess production data.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA regulations through regular safety audits and hazard assessments.
  • Identify and correct problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.

 

Inventory & Supply Chain Management:

  • Manage inventory of raw ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and resolve variances proactively.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to plan production runs, forecast inventory needs, and manage vendor lead times.
  • Uphold FIFO principles to minimize spoilage and reduce waste.

 

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct in-process and post-production inspections to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Enforce compliance with FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and internal quality policies.
  • Maintain accurate production records and lot traceability.
  • Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, food safety, and accountability.

 

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work collaboratively with the CEO, Finance Manager, Sales Managers, Administrative Assistant, and Fulfillment teams.
  • Communicate production timelines, inventory availability, and processes across departments.
  • Support packaging development, new product rollouts, and production trials.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings and provide insight into process improvements and operational efficiency.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and develop production and warehouse personnel.
  • Schedule, delegate, and oversee daily production and packaging line activities.
  • Lead performance reviews, provide coaching, and maintain team morale.
  • Address personnel issues in compliance with HR and company policies.
  • Cultivate a team-oriented culture focused on accountability, safety, and collaboration.

 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • 5+ years of experience in food production, pet food manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with executive leadership and the CEO.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Experience with SOPs, batch documentation, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, inventory tracking systems, and production planning tools (e.g., Shopify, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations or other relevant food safety frameworks is a plus.

 

Education and Experience

  • An associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Operations, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3–5 years in a food or pet product manufacturing leadership role.
  • Experience handling perishable products, baked goods, or shelf-stable CPG items preferred.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Leadership Management Trainee Operations (LMT-O) Program is a six-month, paid intensive training crafted to equip participants with crucial leadership and industry knowledge for the role of Assistant Trainmaster (ATM).

Successful completion of the program necessitates relocation to a terminal within the CPKC network and dedication to future relocations. The training includes classroom instruction, online training, workshops, projects and on-the-job training. Participants will undergo an 11-week manager conductor training course followed by 12 weeks of infield training where you’ll learn the proficiencies required to safely lead the operations and supervision of yard/ train movement.

This position requires relocation across our network within the U.S.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Quickly learn, retain and use railroad operating systems, applications and local operating plans to assign tasks and handle efficiency within operations teams
  • Complete and pass management train conductor certification and be able to be deployed once qualified and as the business requires - failure to pass the conductor certification will result in removal from the program
  • Achieve minimum requirements on all phases of the LMT-O program including written, and practical evaluations; and deliver all reading, assignments and projects within assigned timelines
  • Effectively lead Train and Engine operating employees acting as safety leader through active observations and discussions about rule compliance and by implementing preventative measures through staff engagement
  • Model the proficiencies of effective leadership: commit to results, lead others, lead thought and lead by example
  • Act critically when prioritizing work and make decisions aligned with CPKC’s values of accountability, diversity and pride as well as the five foundations: operate safely, develop people, control costs, optimize assets and provide service

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to relocate anywhere across CPKC's Canadian network upon graduation and throughout your career
  • Must be able to perform work that can be physically demanding
  • General equivalency diploma or equivalent experience is required, with preference given to those with post-secondary education
  • Must be able to travel for up to 6 months during your initial training program
  • Achieve minimum requirements on all phases of the LMT-O program including written, and practical evaluations; online independent learning, and complete all assignments and projects within assigned timelines

What You Will Do

The Manager Trainee is a full-time, entry-level position designed to prepare you for a leadership role within 84 Lumber. This role offers hands-on training across all aspects of store operations with the goal of promotion to a management position. Within the first 6-12 months, you can be promoted (based on performance and position availability), which can lead to up to a 40% increase in annual pay. Many Manager Trainees progress to General Manager roles within 3-4 years. Job Overview

Job Summary/Scope

Handles all duties related to prisoner intake and security for the Police Department. No supervisory or budgetary responsibility.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Family Support Facilitator provides direct services to clients identified by the funding Source. Job Duties

  • Learns the concepts and principles of Solution Based Casework and Family Team Conferencing, as well as assessments and is able to implement and monitor these assessments in working with the family and in overall case discussion with Supervisor and professionals.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, both internally and externally to the agency, community providers, partners and families.
  • Demonstrate the ability to utilize creative and flexible problem solving to meet the family needs.
  • Reviews all intake information of clients referred.
  • Ensure community services and treatments are delivered and customized to meet the individual needs of the family by building on protective capacities, resiliencies, strengths and learning problem solving skills to divert further involvement with child maltreatment.
  • Works with the families to navigate transportation solutions to meet service's needs, including connection with available community transit options.
  • Ensures a culturally competent service delivery system to each family and client.
  • Observes and submits accurate documentation on the services provided and the functioning of individuals and families as required by specific job or department, including entering in the FSFN database, as required by contract and for Internal Quality practices.
  • Staff all cases weekly or as required by program with supervisor.
  • Builds alliances and partnerships with community providers.
  • Adheres to all applicable policies and procedures of One Hope United.
  • Complete trainings as required by One Hope United and the lead Community Based Care agency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required and two years of experience
  • State of Florida Child Welfare Certification (CWCM) preferred, but not required
  • Must be willing to obtain CWCM certification within 1 year of employment required
  • Must be willing to go through 10-week training required
  • Must have reliable transportation and willing to drive daily for work-related purposes.
  • Availability to include evenings, weekends and on-call required
  • Ability to be culturally diverse required

  • Outstanding writing (with an emphasis on AP style), editing and presentation skills, with an ability to adapt messaging and content for a variety of audiences.

  • Passion for PR reporting and measurement. Can leverage monitoring/analytics software and tools to tell an impactful story.
  • Day-to-day budget and vendor management experience, including multiple agencies and subcontractors.
